Lydia Tang is a Chinese freelance Illustrator based in Atlanta, Georgia. At a very young age, she was very passionate about concept design and splash art for games and animation. She spent most of her time studying foundation skills in China, then came to Savannah College of Art and Design to learn professional concept design skills. Lydia won many awards in school art competitions in China and the Silver Key in the 2019 Scholastic Art & Writing Award. Her works were displayed in the C & H Art Studio Exhibition in 2018 and 2019. Lydia likes to draw with a more painterly style and complementary colors to create a solid visual effect most of the time, but she also wants to try other styles. Lydia is earning her BFA in illustration at Savannah College of Art and Design.
" When I first read a comic magazine and started in touch with illustrations and video games, I knew what I would do in the future. My best time was drawing the stories in my head out on physical paper in my free time. I would dive into the stories I made and forget all the bad things in the real world; the satisfaction that art brings me is incomparable. I always imagine myself as an elf who lives in a magical fantasy world, so my illustrations are always full of magic elements and vivid colors. I also like to draw something that could express my emotion and hope that I can relate to somebody. I got most of my inspiration from comics, anime, video games, fairy tales, and myths, and my style tends toward stylized realism. I want to illustrate the stories and characters in my mind and share them with others."
